Reflect

My Adolescent Article Review and Observations demonstrate how I am well versed in the stages of development and that I have the background knowledge to apply to my classroom in the future, thus supporting INTASC Standard 2. The Observations show that I have studied different developmental theories and different professional’s thoughts on the subject of child development and know how to apply it to the real world and really experiences. The Article Review also demonstrates my ability to take an issue of development and analyze it for its worth, validity, and find what pertains to my classroom and my profession from it. It is important to know the theories and developmental stages well. Knowing this background information can only help you in the classroom. It gives you a foundation to judge where you own students are and what should be expected out of them. Without the basics we wouldn’t know where children are supposed to be at stages in their life and what they were going through during those stages. This knowledge which I have demonstrated through these papers will show to be useful in the classroom.

Project

These artifacts, the two Observations and Adolescent Article Review, say a lot about my future as a teacher. These artifacts show I am interested in the development of children and what they go through during their life. All these basics which, let us admit it, we wonder why we are learning in the first place are now so obviously pertinent to my abilities to be a teacher. If someone does not understand the basics, how children develop and how they grow, there is no way they could understand their future students and why how they learn. How can a teacher effectively evaluate a student and instruct them to improve, to do better, if they do not know how children learn, grow, or develop? They go hand in hand. As a future teacher, to me, the basics are vital and my students and I need them to be effective in the classroom.
